TIMING BELTS, CHAINS, GEARS, ETC

In many ways, it's amazing how many things have to work together for an engine to run. One of the most important things about all those parts in there is that they all have to work together correctly. Unless something really bad happens, the bottom stuff works together because they are all connected pretty solidly together, but the valve train up in the head is more likely to get uncoordinated from what's going on down below.  Watch this space for a discussion of what makes the top stuff stay in time with the bottom stuff....
